Maybe it’s trauma. Maybe it’s pain from your culture, society, your family, your past, or a relationship that really mattered to you. Maybe someone you love hurt you. Or maybe you’re just exhausted and wondering if your relationship is worth fighting for anymore.

If that’s you - I get it. And you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Client Focus:

Engaged Couples, Married, dating, or long-term Couples, Individual Adults, Teens (12+).

Issues:

Trauma, depression, anxiety, postpartum depression, premenopausal challenges, relationship struggles

Types of Therapy:

For trauma, I use EMDR to help your brain process what’s been stuck.

For couples, I use the Gottman Method and other relationship-focused approaches to help you: -communicate better -rebuild trust -work through conflict -feel close again

Whether I’m working with you individually or as a couple, my goal is simple:

To create a safe space where you feel heard, understood, and supported - and where real change starts.

Training and Experience:

I am a compassionate and sympathetic Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Arts in Theology, and also a Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychotherapy. I care deeply about helping individuals, couples, and families build stronger, healthier relationships.

Using evidence-based tools, sessions are approached with kindness, care, and an awareness of how culture and life experiences shape each person.

Fluent in both Arabic and English, with a special heart for immigrant and diverse communities. As someone who immigrated and grew up in a Christian faith background, I understand the importance of family, resilience, and cultural values. Those experiences help me connect with people from many different walks of life.

At the core of my work is this belief:
Healthy relationships are the foundation of wellbeing. When our relationships heal, so do we.

More than just my work:

I’ve been married for 20 years and am a mom of four — including teenagers. Life at home is full and real.

Do you ever find yourself longing for more connection or ease in your relationships?

When we feel distant or disconnected from the people who matter most, it can take a real toll-not just emotionally, but on our nervous systems, physical health, and overall sense of well-being. At the same time, healthy, supportive relationships can be incredibly life-giving. They can help us grow, laugh more freely, feel deeply connected, and move toward shared goals with a sense of meaning and vitality.

Whether you’re single and wanting to prepare yourself for a strong, fulfilling long-term relationship, or you’re in a relationship hoping to rebuild trust and create more positive patterns, you don’t have to navigate it on your own. I aim to offer a calm, non-judgmental space where we can gently explore your inner world together-your sense of self, needs, values, and the places where things feel both painful and life-giving.

Taking a holistic approach to wellness, we’ll look at practical, doable shifts that support greater alignment and fulfillment-not just in your relationships, but across life, love, work, and play.

Client focus

My client focus includes couples, families and individuals experiencing distress and disconnection and I am happy to integrate Christian faith/principles upon request.

Issues

-communication -intimacy -conflict management -depression -anxiety -self-actualization

Types of therapy

I use evidence-based approaches, including the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I also integrate Internal Family systems (IFS), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Training and Experience

I have had the privilege of learning about individuals, relationships, and the human experience through both academic study and lived experience.

I have completed Level One in the Gottman Method, and currently working on Level Two.

As a Master of Divinity (Clinical Counselling) student at Tyndale University, my training has equipped me with evidence-informed frameworks, tools, and interventions to support individuals navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relational distress. My approach integrates psychological and spiritual perspectives, attending to the ways our relationships-with ourselves, others, and faith-shape our overall well-being.

My interest in relational health is informed by both professional training and personal insight into how family dynamics and marital satisfaction can significantly impact the emotional, relational, physical, and practical functioning of individuals and families. This perspective informs my work with clients seeking greater stability, connection, and meaning in their relationships.

Prior to transitioning into the psycho-spiritual and counselling field, I worked in a multinational consulting firm and earned my Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. This experience allows me to understand the pressures, demands, and burnout often faced by high-achieving individuals in fast-paced professional environments.

More than just my work

Outside of work, I love having real world experiences that get me out from behind a screen and remind me of God, beauty, and wellness. This includes attending concerts and discovering new music, attending fashion shows, people watching and social events, and travelling to new places. Through ongoing conversations with my boyfriend and sister, I’m continually expanding my understanding of global systems, politics, financial investments, and the balance of power that shapes our world. In tandem with a growing spiritual understanding, all of this aligns with experiencing greater degrees of God’s redemptive purposes in my life and those around me.

Are you a couple going through complex struggles?

I know firsthand how complex family life can be. I grew up in an Indigenous community in Nunavut (Ikaluktutiak), where my family was one of a handful of Filipino/Asian families in the area. I also have personal experience with being in an intercultural marriage for over two years now. These experiences shape how I understand identity, belonging, compassion and resilience. They also deepened my appreciation for the unique strengths and challenges that every couple brings to therapy.

Training and Experience

Over the years, I’ve worked across child welfare and adult protection, walking alongside people through trauma, abuse, family conflict, and substance use. What really matters to me is helping couples feel seen, heard, and understood. Relationships can carry deep hurts, and sometimes those hurts feel impossible to manage on your own.

I’m a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist, and an Associate with The Couple Wellness Experts. I’ve completed Levels One and Level Two Gottman Method Couples Therapy, the Gottman training on Bringing Baby Home and Trauma & Affairs. I also completed an externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy. My academic background includes a Master of Social Work and a combined Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Social Work from McMaster University.

I especially enjoy working with new parents and supporting partners through the big transition of welcoming a baby, including helping partners understand the hormone changes and emotional shifts new moms experience. I also care deeply about how conflict affects kids, and I often help parents learn how to navigate disagreements to healthier ways of communicating. My background in child protection and adult protection also gives me insight into more complex situations, like couples navigating ADHD or FASD. I also know what it is like to enter into a stage in life of caring for parents with dementia.

I create a safe, supportive space where couples can work through conflict, rebuild trust, and strengthen their connection. Whether it’s learning how to communicate better, repairing from betrayal, or navigating the stress of parenting, my goal is to help couples grow closer rather than drift apart.

At the heart of my work is a belief that relationships are a place of growth and transformation. When couples lean into that process, with honesty, courage, and a willingness to listen, real healing and lasting connection can happen.

More than just my work:

I find ease and meaning in stargazing, having spent part of my childhood in Nunavut, watching the Aurora Borealis. I also love hiking, trying new recipes and watching films with my husband.

Are you longing to feel close again? Do you find yourselves stuck in the same painful conversations — or avoiding them altogether?

Every relationship goes through seasons. Sometimes the friendship feels strong and easy. Other times, stress, misunderstandings, betrayal, or life transitions create distance. You may still love each other deeply, yet feel unheard, unseen, or alone in the relationship.

I work with couples at many different stages — from those preparing for marriage to those navigating years of shared history. Some couples are rebuilding after betrayal. Others are simply exhausted from conflict that never seems to resolve. Many are balancing careers, parenting, cultural expectations, or major life changes while trying to stay connected.

In our work together, both partners matter. I create a calm, respectful space where difficult conversations can happen safely — where emotions are understood, patterns become clearer, and repair becomes possible.

Client Focus:

-Individuals (Adults and Teens)

-Pre-engaged/Engaged Couples

-Long-term Committed Couples

-Couples navigating life transitions

-Dual-career and high-achieving professionals

-Workshops

Issues:

-Communication breakdown

-Recurring conflict and gridlock

-Trust concerns and betrayal

-Emotional disconnection

-Stress and burnout

-Anxiety and depression

-Life transitions

-Career stress/challenges/transitions

-Career coaching for teens, young adults and adults

Types of Therapy:

My work is grounded in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I am currently completing Levels 1 and 2 training in the Gottman Method. I use its structured assessments and practical tools to help couples strengthen friendship, communicate more effectively, manage conflict gently, and rebuild trust after hurt.

Alongside the Gottman Method, I integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as well. My style is collaborative and steady. I believe meaningful change happens when couples feel emotionally safe enough to turn toward each other instead of away.

Training and Experience:

As a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) and maintain membership with the Ontario Association of Social Workers. My background also includes a PhD in Management and designation as a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL).

Before moving fully into clinical practice, I spent over a decade in academic leadership and management. With that, I worked with students extensively, coaching them with their career goals and job readiness. This experience gives me particular insight into the pressures faced by high-achieving professionals — leadership demands, performance stress, ambition, and responsibility — and how these can quietly affect intimacy and partnership at home.

At the same time, my work is rooted in the belief that every couple, regardless of background or profession, deserves a relationship that feels secure, respectful, and emotionally connected.

More than just my work:

On a personal note, I am a mother of two wonderful children and have been married to my husband for nearly two decades. My own experiences have deepened my appreciation for the ongoing intention, care, and patience that relationships require. I believe strongly in taking care of yourself and your loved ones, even during life’s busiest seasons.

Outside of my work, I enjoy dancing (Bollywood and freestyle), traveling, and spending meaningful time with my family.

Relationships are not strengthened by avoiding conflict, but by learning how to repair and reconnect. It is a privilege to walk alongside couples as they rediscover each other, rebuild trust, and create a partnership that feels safe, resilient, and meaningful.
