Have you been through something hard?
Maybe it’s trauma. Maybe it’s pain from your culture, society, your family, your past, or a relationship that really mattered to you. Maybe someone you love hurt you. Or maybe you’re just exhausted and wondering if your relationship is worth fighting for anymore.
If that’s you - I get it. And you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Client Focus:
Engaged Couples, Married, dating, or long-term Couples, Individual Adults, Teens (12+).
Issues:
Trauma, depression, anxiety, postpartum depression, premenopausal challenges, relationship struggles
Types of Therapy:
For trauma, I use EMDR to help your brain process what’s been stuck.
For couples, I use the Gottman Method and other relationship-focused approaches to help you: -communicate better -rebuild trust -work through conflict -feel close again
Whether I’m working with you individually or as a couple, my goal is simple:
To create a safe space where you feel heard, understood, and supported - and where real change starts.
Training and Experience:
I am a compassionate and sympathetic Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Arts in Theology, and also a Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychotherapy. I care deeply about helping individuals, couples, and families build stronger, healthier relationships.
Using evidence-based tools, sessions are approached with kindness, care, and an awareness of how culture and life experiences shape each person.
Fluent in both Arabic and English, with a special heart for immigrant and diverse communities. As someone who immigrated and grew up in a Christian faith background, I understand the importance of family, resilience, and cultural values. Those experiences help me connect with people from many different walks of life.
At the core of my work is this belief: Healthy relationships are the foundation of wellbeing. When our relationships heal, so do we.
More than just my work:
I’ve been married for 20 years and am a mom of four — including teenagers. Life at home is full and real.
When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me gardening or spending time with my family.

Are you longing to feel close again? Do you find yourselves stuck in the same painful conversations — or avoiding them altogether?
Every relationship goes through seasons. Sometimes the friendship feels strong and easy. Other times, stress, misunderstandings, betrayal, or life transitions create distance. You may still love each other deeply, yet feel unheard, unseen, or alone in the relationship.
I work with couples at many different stages — from those preparing for marriage to those navigating years of shared history. Some couples are rebuilding after betrayal. Others are simply exhausted from conflict that never seems to resolve. Many are balancing careers, parenting, cultural expectations, or major life changes while trying to stay connected.
In our work together, both partners matter. I create a calm, respectful space where difficult conversations can happen safely — where emotions are understood, patterns become clearer, and repair becomes possible.
Client Focus:
-Individuals (Adults and Teens)
-Pre-engaged/Engaged Couples
-Long-term Committed Couples
-Couples navigating life transitions
-Dual-career and high-achieving professionals
-Workshops
Issues:
-Communication breakdown
-Recurring conflict and gridlock
-Trust concerns and betrayal
-Emotional disconnection
-Stress and burnout
-Anxiety and depression
-Life transitions
-Career stress/challenges/transitions
-Career coaching for teens, young adults and adults
Types of Therapy:
My work is grounded in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I am currently completing Levels 1 and 2 training in the Gottman Method. I use its structured assessments and practical tools to help couples strengthen friendship, communicate more effectively, manage conflict gently, and rebuild trust after hurt.
Alongside the Gottman Method, I integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as well. My style is collaborative and steady. I believe meaningful change happens when couples feel emotionally safe enough to turn toward each other instead of away.
Training and Experience:
As a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) and maintain membership with the Ontario Association of Social Workers. My background also includes a PhD in Management and designation as a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL).
Before moving fully into clinical practice, I spent over a decade in academic leadership and management. With that, I worked with students extensively, coaching them with their career goals and job readiness. This experience gives me particular insight into the pressures faced by high-achieving professionals — leadership demands, performance stress, ambition, and responsibility — and how these can quietly affect intimacy and partnership at home.
At the same time, my work is rooted in the belief that every couple, regardless of background or profession, deserves a relationship that feels secure, respectful, and emotionally connected.
More than just my work:
On a personal note, I am a mother of two wonderful children and have been married to my husband for nearly two decades. My own experiences have deepened my appreciation for the ongoing intention, care, and patience that relationships require. I believe strongly in taking care of yourself and your loved ones, even during life’s busiest seasons.
Outside of my work, I enjoy dancing (Bollywood and freestyle), traveling, and spending meaningful time with my family.
Relationships are not strengthened by avoiding conflict, but by learning how to repair and reconnect. It is a privilege to walk alongside couples as they rediscover each other, rebuild trust, and create a partnership that feels safe, resilient, and meaningful.
